By accessing our website, purchasing any hunt materials, downloading content, or participating in any Compass & Lantern treasure hunt, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Official Rules, Privacy Policy, and any other policies published on our website.

If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you should not purchase, access, or participate in any Compass & Lantern products or services.

1. Purchase of Hunt Materials

The purchase of a Compass & Lantern hunt provides access to digital hunt materials only.

The purchase of a hunt does not guarantee success in locating a treasure, solving a puzzle, claiming a prize, or receiving any financial return.

All purchases are for entertainment purposes and participation in the hunt experience.

2. No Refunds

All sales are final.

Due to the digital nature of Compass & Lantern products, no refunds, exchanges, credits, cancellations, or transfers will be granted after purchase.

By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and agree that you are purchasing access to digital content that cannot be returned.

3. Ownership and Intellectual Property

All content provided by Compass & Lantern, including but not limited to:

  • Hunt materials

  • PDFs

  • Clues

  • Puzzles

  • Stories

  • Artwork

  • Graphics

  • Logos

  • Videos

  • Website content

are the exclusive property of Compass & Lantern and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, sold, shared, republished, modified, or used for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of Compass & Lantern.

4. Single-User License

Unless otherwise stated, the purchase of a hunt grants a limited, non-transferable, revocable license for personal use only.

Participants may not resell, redistribute, upload, publish, share, or otherwise distribute hunt materials to others.

Compass & Lantern reserves the right to revoke access to any participant found violating this provision.

5. Assumption of Risk

Participation in any treasure hunt involves inherent risks.

Participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with travel, hiking, walking, outdoor exploration, weather conditions, terrain conditions, wildlife encounters, and other foreseeable or unforeseeable risks associated with participation.

Participation is entirely voluntary and undertaken at the participant's own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Compass & Lantern, its owners, operators, affiliates, agents, representatives, employees, contractors, successors, and assigns shall not be liable for any:

  • Personal injury

  • Death

  • Property damage

  • Financial loss

  • Lost profits

  • Lost opportunities

  • Travel expenses

  • Lodging expenses

  • Incidental damages

  • Consequential damages

  • Indirect damages

arising from or relating to the purchase of a hunt, participation in a hunt, search activities, prize claims, or use of the website.

7. Prize Eligibility

Prize eligibility is governed by the Official Rules for each hunt.

Compass & Lantern reserves the right to verify all claims and determine eligibility before awarding any prize.

Possession of a treasure coin alone does not guarantee entitlement to a prize.

8. Modifications and Changes

Compass & Lantern reserves the right to modify, update, suspend, postpone, relocate, or cancel any hunt, website content, prize amount, policy, rule, or procedure at any time and without prior notice.

Participants are responsible for reviewing the most current version of all applicable terms and rules.

9. Website Availability

Compass & Lantern does not guarantee uninterrupted access to its website, payment systems, email systems, digital downloads, or other services.

Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, technical issues, security concerns, or circumstances beyond our control.

10. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Compass & Lantern systems.

  • Interfere with website operations.

  • Use automated software, bots, scripts, or scraping tools.

  • Copy or distribute protected content.

  • Engage in fraudulent or unlawful conduct.

Violation of these provisions may result in account termination, disqualification, legal action, or other remedies available under law.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising from or relating to Compass & Lantern shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the State of Texas.
